Services
Some of Cantor Wallach’s varied services include:
-
Cantor
I am available to serve as a cantor for special ceremonial and lifecycle events, including baby namings, brit milah, unveiling ceremonies, and Jewish memorial services.
-
Jewish Mindfulness Teaching
Cantor Wallach has taught Jewish mindfulness classes to congregants, combining Hebrew chant, meditation, poetry and mindfulness instruction as a support for living through the stresses of everyday life and the challenges of our time.
-
Vocal Performance & Musical Collaboration
Cantor Wallach has served on the bimah at Temple Beth-El in Hillsborough, NJ in collaboration with accomplished musician and songwriter, rabbi Noah Diamondstein.
She has directed synagogue choirs, works with the Tefilah Band and piano accompanist at Temple Beth-El, and has performed with the New Jersey Cantors Choir Ensemble. She recorded a CD of klezmer, liturgical and folk music with klezmer musicians from the San Francisco Bay Area.
Cantor Wallach has performed original compositions by her father, pianist and composer Larry Wallach, which he accompanied on piano.
-
Officiant
It is my honor to serve as an officiant to important life events such as weddings and funerals.
“Substantively, Cantor Wallach’s tutoring was superb. [..] Availability and teaching excellence only go so far. Effective teaching also requires the right attitude and personality. A frustrated, overwhelmed, or stressed student cannot learn. Cantor Wallach was positive and encouraging, even while being demanding. She cultivated an ideal learning environment for Asher over the course of his preparatory year.”
